Did you observe a rock fall in the Alps?
In the scope of the observations of permafrost dynamics, PERMOS documents rock fall events that originate in permafrost areas.
We are collecting all information about rock fall in permafrost areas in collaboration with the Federal Office for the Environment (BAFU), the WLS Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF), and the Swiss Mountain Guide Association (SBV).
We are especially interested in the location of the starting zone, the date/time of the event, the volume, and whether ice is/was visible in the starting zone. Pictures are of course highly welcome!
If you have observed a rock fall event in the high mountains (i.e., originating above the tree line),
please fill out the questionnaire available at the SLF website.
